Blogging, for me, has always been about reaching out to like-minded souls who love to make things with their hands and heart. I haven't been doing it as much as I would like because I just didn't take the time. Walking into my sewing room this morning, the first thing I saw was the light hitting the embroidery thread I had carelessly laid in a pile and I immediately thought what a great picture it would make. So I snapped the image and took the time.
Under those colorful strands of floss lies the ever patient mushroom village table runner. It is so close to being done it's insane! Why don't I finish it? Well, because I am working on examples for a workshop I am teaching this month for the Surface Design Meeting and after that I will be working on things to sell at the Spanish Point Fairy House Festival (March 7 & 8, 2014).
I never lack for a project to complete- that's for sure! I know that some of them I love so much that I put off finishing them so that they stay around a little while longer. Once they are done they get priced and go on Etsy or in a bin to be offered at the next Craft Show.
I am almost finished with a heart for another Blogger who is collecting them- and will make one to send you if you send her one- Lisa of Whimsical Bohemian has the post up on her Face Book page if you'd like to join in the fun then let her know there-
My birthday is the day before Valentine's Day and several years ago I asked some of my friends to make me hearts- I didn't make them any in return but maybe this is the year that I will! I love the idea of filling a small tree with hearts and maybe even making them to leave with notes around town- spreading the love, right?
Thank you for stopping by and stay warm and colorful!
