Getting things finished that have been patiently waiting in my sewing room is a wonderful feeling!
I used this piece of crazy quilt with Cinderella embroidery that I had finished but never "made into anything" to create a tote bag and lined it with some cheerful Amy Butler fabric.
A doubled embroidered doily makes the inside pocket.
The back of the bag is more stitched sashiko fabric from that
repurposed tablecloth.
She is from a vintage embroidery pattern I found on eBay and she is colored with crayons and heat set. The bag's dimensions are: 14" wide and 13" tall with 4" squared off bottom and 33" long handles. Machine quilted with bamboo batting.
The other bag that I finished with bamboo batting called Go Go Godzilla measures: 19" wide and 14" high with 12" handles 4" bottom.

The bamboo batting is very nice and soft to the touch although I haven't washed these yet I don't really see much of a difference between this and my usual cotton batting- except the softness- that's worth it if you are hand quilting- perhaps the bamboo makes it somewhat stronger also-
I am no expert for sure- I just wanted to try it out.
I am thinking about listing them in Etsy- even though I have Atomic Holiday Bazaar coming up Dec 14th, our booth is right next door to a "Purse-A-Palooza" booth so, whatever. I did that show last year and it was a rockin good time with shoppers packing the auditorium! Sales were awesome!
Art Shows are only as good as the shoppers who visit them and the location in which they are held.
I used to weave baskets and do art shows and usually the location was outside in the gorgeous sunshine and most like Siesta Fiesta were packed with people vacationing or wanting a piece of art to decorate their homes.
The Art Show last weekend was certainly a fun day because I got to visit with my friends but, I had no expectation for sales, so really I wasn't disappointed.
I usually just want to make back the cost of the booth fee and I did, though it was because my friends bought stuff from me!
Thank you Laura and Deb for shopping with me- I appreciate that!
To the woman who bought 10 of my twig pencils-
I send a cosmic thank you out there to you!
what a sweet heart!
Anyway- I will be finishing up the 4 way swap quilts and getting back to making stuff for Atomic-
I want to have some journal covers and aprons and small pillows and ornaments so we shall see what I can get finished in the next few weeks!
Thank you for all the kind wishes for success at the show-
sometimes it seems that my stuff is too different for the mainstream shopper and I certainly appeal to a less conservative audience-
that's why Etsy works so well for me.
So, as we look ahead to Thanksgiving I have to say that I am so very Thankful for all of you who continue to read my words, see my pictures and listen to my dreams.
I am Thankful for you.
