I just emptied a spool of thread.
That was 547 yds of thread in this smock apron so far.
I have worked on this for 32 hours.
The theme is knitting in a garden under a Picasso Moon.
There are roses and flowers of all color and type.
Tea is being served so set down your knitting needles and savor a cup.
Do you get it?
I have to stop and take a shower, get dressed and go get more thread!
Then I can go round and round again a few more times before I am finished.
The critters have symbolic meaning for me- bees represent sweetness and frogs are always Princes and spiders and webs represent time.
Roses are for passion and violets for remembrance.
I love the way the raw edges get softer after a few washings and look worn and frayed, gently showing use and time.
I don't use iron on stabilizer because I want it to ravel at the edge.
I also don't like the way it flattens the fabrics when you "glue" them together with that stuff- it's just another chemical I can live without.
No and I don't zig zag around the edges.
I want them to lift and curl and add dimension.
Not everything is better once it's tamed.
Be wild.
Be free.
Live a little.
Be ragged and worn.
My sister says life is too short not to eat pie.
I have to agree.
