Monday Morning again.
Up early.
Sewing already.
Working on finishing projects.
Doll quilts and aprons.
Alternating between machine and hand sewing.
I have projects on all the sofas and chairs, smooth cloth, waiting for texture and embellishment.
Rotating each project in the hope that they will all get a turn and become complete in nearly the same amount of time.
Who knows when?
I try, but get caught up in new things so quickly and then realize what I am doing and forcibly set that aside, making notes so I don't forget what I want to do when that project's time rolls around.
In rotation now are two smocks- each for a Debra (hophopjingleboo & picasso moon) and I am pleased with the results.
This one has cherished family photos worked in to the patchwork and then will have raw edge applique and some embroidery to enhance the theme of knitting in a garden under a Picasso Moon.
I try to channel the personality (of the person) I am creating for and this isn't always easy, unless I know them well. The bottom line is that they are getting my work and ultimately it is really a part of me and my vision for them.
So, it comes in fits and starts but when the flame catches and begins to burn bright then I know I am on the right track. I can feel it working out.
When I fit pieces together to create a whole cloth to cut the smock from I feel disjointed and unsure but this one went together fairly well and after I get the pockets on and patchwork the back pieces it will be time for the fun stuff~ the raw edge binding and applique.
I am afraid that I am too busy to write about the museum today- you may certainly use this link to check out the pictures I took and when I get a chance I will write some more.
I thoroughly enjoyed it and will go back when there is a new exhibit on display in the downstairs gallery.
Back to work!
