Have a very Calamity Christmas!

I would like to wish you all the Merriest of Christmases and the Happiest of New Years! I am taking a wee break until next year. I am feeling the need  for respite. If I bake some gingerbread gnomes and fairies I promise I will drop by with a picture or two, but in the meanwhile, I'll be sewing on some good stuff and curling up on the couch next to Sadie & Freddie and watching CSI marathons and Lost Season 3 (in preparation of the new season coming up) and reading Pillars of the Earth- a book that my Sister loaned me and swears that I won't be able to stop reading and making yoyo's and paper dolls.

Thank you for visiting me here all year and being so kind and wonderful and supportive and loving.
I am asking Santa to spare a bit of elf-magic so that I can finally finish up some long overdue apron-gifts and chicken blankets and mermaid quilts and some grand baby quilts...that's the calamity! I missed the bus again! Well, there's always next year!  sometimes think that if I were to finish all my WIPs (works in Progress) I might die! Maybe that's why I procrastinate! eEK!!
**I am working on the best thing for Valentine's Day- you won't believe it!
Then there will be dolls for The Orphanage too!

I have been in love with her work for a long time and could never decide between the Craft Goddess, the Space Cadet and the Alice...

Now, she has Cafe Press available on her Blog too so I can and could get a T-shirt or a damn tote bag with her work on it!!! Man! What a wonderful world!

The Many Moods of Snowmen

I like mean snowmen. I must confess. You heard correctly. No sweetly smiling, happy, silly snowmen for this Calamity Girl- I want angry, mad, mean, sad snowmen. I want paper mache, felt, sock, glittered, resin- it doesn't matter what they're made from- they have to have a certain countenance on their brow.
Maybe they are melting?
Maybe they are cold hearted?
Maybe they are lonely.
Maybe they are just mean old Grinchy Snowmen who play dirty and put icicles and gravel in their snowballs?
Maybe they didn't have a Mother. I found this picture in Google images and he looks wistful. I like him.

I saw some snowman murders and they were way too mean. Heartless! Cruel.

Not  like the snowmen I used to build. They were sweet and nice. A long time ago.

I make up my own reasons for their melancholy as I unwrap and place them about the house. Let the decorating begin!!

I bought this several years ago at Hallmark. Wait, maybe it was eBay. I don't remember. I just know I love the way he incorporates quilt patterns into his designs.

OK, so I am dragging out a few decorations.
I should be finishing my Ornaments for the Swap at Amy's Lyon Den.
I should be making stuff to sell at the Atomic Holiday Show.
I should be wrapping that big elf to mail to Austin and Hayden and Dylan.
I should be getting up from this computer before I break out in bed sores!

Yes, I think I am addicted to this...

I was gonna go to rehab, ( I said, No, No, No!) but they couldn't get the intervention organized.

Lucky me!

I can sit here till the moss grows...not really, but it's nice to pretend.
