The disappearing 9 patch with some bright and happy fabric collage.
I used the blues and browns and greens to represent the earth and a walk in the woods with some Moda rock/pebbles and Martha Negley twigs and those mysterious dark bare trees- I have had that fabric for at least 8 years.
Sometimes I buy fabric for the feeling that it gives me.

Poor Red, alone with only a wolf for company. She wants to trust him but she knows better. After all, he is a wolf.
She stops to pick flowers and listens to the sudden quiet in the forest.
The birds try to warn her.
She knows the wolf wants more than the tasty cakes in her basket for Grandmama.

She is ready to run...
